The Azzurrini wearing their yellow lemon-like third kit, lost 1-0 away to Milan on Saturday failing to collect all three points. Milan opened the scoring early on within the first minute of the opening kick off. The Rossonieri stricker Nnamdi Odumadi made a darting run down the left flank and put in a dangerous cross onto the head of forward Riccardo Forte into the back of the net, catching the Napoli by surprise. Milan had plenty of chances throughout the first half to increase their lead but played a steady dominant style with the ball at their feet. Napoli responded in the second half by creating some offensive opportunities but they were not enough to solve the Milan defense. Napoli forward Alessio Zerbin had a glorious chance in front of goal to tie the game in the 81st minute with a header but ringed it off the crossbar.
Despite losing against one of the strongest primavera sides, the Azzurrini showed played well enough to hold Milan to a one goal win, without conceding too many. However, Napoli showed signs of fatigue from their draw against Feyenoord earlier in the week which forced Saurini to rotate the squad. Next match sees Napoli up for another tough test away to Lazio on Saturday October 14th.
