Napoli travel to Manchester City in what is expected to be a highly entertaining affair between 2 of Europe’s most prolific attacking forces. After eight matches, both sides sit atop their respective leaves with 55 goals scored between them (29 for Man City & 26 for Napoli). The 2 teams are not completely foreign to each other as they also met in the 2011 Champions League Group stage with Napoli managing an away draw and home victory. Napoli have come a long way from Walter Mazzarri’s counter attacking side but would surely take a similar pair of results this time around. Here is the official squad list for the match:
Reina, Rafael, Sepe, Albiol, Chiriches, Ghoulam, Hysaj, Koulibaly, Maksimovic, Maggio, Mario Rui, Allan, Diawara, Hamsik, Jorginho, Rog, Zielinski, Callejon, Giaccherini, Ounas, Insigne, Mertens
Here is how the Azzurri could line up:
Reina, Hysaj, Koulibaly, Albiol, Ghoulam, Allan, Diawara, Hamsik, Callejon, Mertens, Insigne
I think Sarri may prefer Diawara’s physicality in the center of the pitch while going with the familiar faces elsewhere. Maksimovic has been tipped to start by some but I can’t see Albiol sitting if he’s available while Allan’s defensive work likely makes him favored over Zielinski.
